I had intended to write my second post much earlier, but due to a bereavement in the family, I left Australia two days after I landed and headed to China for a week.
Our transit stop through Doha during Ramadan was very different to the last time we stopped over. There was an aura of peace around Souq Waqif and we enjoyed a day time stroll around the area.
Onwards to Sydney – where I only managed a couple of days before I headed to China. Both trips were about spending time with family. I didn’t end up making it on the planned roadtrip or to Port Stephens while in Australia – but Conor and I will record and post our first podcast tomorrow, recapping his time in Australia and what he thought of our beers!
In Sydney I met my God Daughter Charlotte for the first time, and cried when I held her because she is beautiful and perfect.
We did some Sydney sightseeing on Thursday, visited Taronga Zoo on Friday (where we met and fed two of their three capybara’s, Pedro and Guillemo.)
We left for Brisbane very early Sunday morning to visit more family- and I finally grabbed an Oporto Double Bondi Burger with Chilli at the airport. For my breakfast too, might I add. I have been craving this very specific burger for about 3 years now and have missed out each of my last visits back home. It was godly at 7 in the morning.
Today we left Brisbane for Indonesia. We landed in Bali and are now on our way from the airport to our accommodation in Ubud. If I have one piece of travel advice for anyone visiting Indonesia who plans to get the Visa on Arrival- apply for an E-Visa beforehand. It will save you a considerable amount of time going through customs and immigration.
I’ll finish this post off with some photos.

That’s all for now folks!
Remember to be kind to yourselves and to others. May peace, love and and the burger of your dreams always be with you.
